Miss Liverpool City Region 2018 Photos
Photography by Patrick Trollope.

READERS would have seen in our previous edition that Abigail Foster is now Miss Liverpool City Region 2018 and that Jennifer Leigh  is now Miss Southport 2018. Both girls are extremely excited to not only be representing the area at Miss England, but also having a chance of going on to represent the country at Miss World. All the while they will be supporting their local communities.

Many people forget that this event is not just about looks, it is about raising money for charity and also creating role models for others to look up to. So if you would like them to attend a charity event, please do contact them via emailing:- Info@Miss-Liverpool-City-Region.Com with all your full contact information, charity number and a description about what it is you would like them to do. Sadly, they can't do every event, so please get in contact soon, so they can try to fit you in to an extremely active schedule, which includes this year Woodvale Rally, in Southport and also the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament.

This year's Miss Southport and Miss Liverpool City Region Finals of the Miss England were held at the Olympia, on West Derby Road, Liverpool, on Friday, 18 May 2018.

The night had a range of events taking place, including the fashion contest, live music and a raffle.

All the girls did a fantastic job on stage and look stunning. Their hair and make up had been done by students from Hugh Baird Baird College, with support of the official make up artists, Pierre Rene Professional

This year's Eco Round's dresses looked amazing. The focus was on reducing plastic waste and the dresses were made from recycled plastic, by students from the City of Liverpool Collage.

It was an extremely hard choice for the Eco Round judges:- Matt Fisher - Photographer, Neil Cooper - Service Manager and Visuals for House Of Fraser and Elli Wilson - Miss Liverpool City Region 2017. The winner of the dress design competition was Mo Al-Geradi, whose dress was modelled by Chloe Ludden.

Compere for the night was Stephanie Hill, the current Miss England (2017/18) who stood in for Elizabeth Grant (Miss England 2016/17) who sadly could not make the event. Also acting as a compere was Chris Bramell, who was Mr England 2015/2016.

The panel of judges for the Miss Liverpool City Region section of the night included:- model Danielle Lloyd, along with Sarah Griffiths from the Unique Wellness Centre, Christine Cartwright from Impact Model Agency, Dan Collins - 3rd Avenue Photo and Video Company, Holly Ellison - Singer/song writer (The Voice) along with Jess Page Former - Miss England Finalist Jess.

For Miss Southport the judges were:- Nina Siddle - Portland Hall Spa, Lisa Hames - GModels and Gwen Raby - Miss Southport 2017.

As we reported in last week's issue, performing at the event were Astrid, Charlotte Gallagher and LivvyK. All 3 acts did an amazing job and sounding just as good as they looked.

To find out more about the event and also about how you can request the attendance at charity events, of both Miss Southport and Miss Liverpool City Region, please go to:- Miss-Liverpool-City-Region.com.

Just in case you ask, no, we did not see any swimming costumes on stage!
