Fracking plan for Great Altcar

LAST week we ran a report about Frack Free Formby's meeting about the controversial neighbouring fracking plans, within Great Altcar, just outside Formby. As a result we contacted Aurora Energy Resources as in the meeting the we had been told that the firm had not really engaged with the people of Formby, so we contacted them our selves.

In response to our request for information Aurora said:- "Thanks for contacting Aurora. The full details of the planning application can be found online. The statement of community engagement has a useful map showing the relative distance to Great Altcar, the industrial estate and Formby village that you may find helpful."

We will continue to try and get some of the questions raised answered by those we heard at the meeting, that have not already been addressed on the website Aurora have quoted us to look at.

We have also contacted a few insurance companies to see if the idea that Fracking will affect insurance. So far they have all said that it will not affect the cost of insurance policies, but it is to early to say if that would change.
