Southport's Summer Street Showcase

THE end of this years Showcase was a fantastic one. With fantastic crowds and fantastic music, what more could be asked for, except that is continues next year! The only down side to the event held on 16 August and Sunday 17 August was that it is the last one for the year.   A big well done to ABD Productions and all the adults and kids who preformed making Southport a really fantastic place to be.   One of the regular spectators David Smith from Churchtown said, "Now what will I do to have fun when I am waiting for the buss after shopping.  It is very relaxing and I will miss it!"  Another passer by called Liz Barker from Crosby said, "It has been one of the most entertaining free events in Sefton.  It is a fantastic advert for Southport and a welcome brake to monotonous shopping routines."  ABD's Anne Dalton said, "I think this would be fantastic every weekend, but the cost is prohibitive.  we need more backing from the council and also from the town it's self to keep this going through the summer holidays and longer.  Well all things come to a end and we will be back next year.  ABD would like to thank the tourist department for its help, the arts center and also a very big thank you to the Town Hall Gardens Café for its sponsorship."
