Fox & Goose Closed!
The Fox and Goose on Cable Street had it's doors closed for the very last time ever on Christmas Eve.  The last night was far from silent as the pub filled with regulars who came to see the pub off with a party that was to be remembered by all who went.  With tears and happy smiles the pub finally closed it's doors at 1am on Christmas Day. We went along to the night witness the closure of the pub that has been at the heart of the Rock community of Southport.  Neither the landlady nor the Brewery would comment on its closure at this time.   We would like to thank Mandi the landlady for being so welcoming over the last year to us, and we would also like to take this opportunity to say that we will support with what ever you decide to do in the future.  We have been told by Mandi that she is to continue organizing Rock nights for the time being in and around Southport.  We will bring you more information as it comes in to us about this and about the reasons for closure that has stunned the night life community of Southport.  The landlord of one of the Lord street Pubs said "We are suprised and shocked to see the pub closed.  Mandi put so much into the pub. We hope she does well with what ever she decides to do."
