IF you are unaware, Miss Liverpool City Region is the longest running independent heat of Miss England, offering the winner a direct entry to the national finals, and a possibility of going to Miss World. On 21 September 2025, the search for the next Miss Liverpool City Region came to the conclusion at The Bentley Liverpool, at a very lively night that had a fantastic party atmosphere throughout.

Keeping the night flowing, this year's Compares where both:- Sophie Clarke, and James O'Connor. Sophie, who is a former Miss Liverpool City Region contestant and now a Mezzo Soprano with thousands of loyal listeners who has performed within venues such as:- the Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall and Bridgewater Hall. James is a social media manager, content creator, and business owner of Tipseebars, in Liverpool.

The judges on the night, where:- Holly Ellison, James Hoyles, and the outgoing Miss Liverpool City Region, who is now Miss England, Charlotte Grant.

Out of view of the audience all contestants took part in a formal interview that looked at their journey so far and asking what they plan to do if they win. The judges looked at the contestants personal development to date, charity involvement, and how they plan to represent Liverpool on the national stage at Miss England, and even on an international stage!

They then took part in three heats, seeing them model 3 outfits. Starting with sports clothing, followed by black dresses, and lastly, formal evening dresses. They also had to do a quick question and answer section for their public speaking test on stage.

The event also culminate with dance routines by the amazing local dance by Emma's Roadshow, along with singing by both:- Sophie and Holly Ellison.

This year, 12 contestants competed for the prestigious modelling title, all coming from a wide variety of backgrounds. The hopefuls where:-

Abby O'Neill, 16 Mia Gilfoyle, 22
Alanah Bridie, 23 Paige Loren, 21
Amy Blackwell, 25 Rhe Gillison Young, 24
Georgina Me, 21 Riley Harrison, 20
Lexi Marie, 16 Sasha White, 19
Lizzy Anderson, 23 Shakeila Jenkins, 16

It is worth adding that for some of those taking part it was their 1st experience performing on stage, while others returned with renewed determination. Organiser Pat Hughes later revealed that one mother had contacted her after the event to share how much the experience had boosted her daughter's confidence and self esteem.

Sadly, only one could take the title and this year Miss England, Charlotte Grant, crowned:- 21 year old, Loren Cannon James, as the new Miss Liverpool City Region title holder. As this took place large sparks shot up on the stage and cheers rang out.

Paige will now represent the Region at that Miss England finals in November, and also continue the mission to raise awareness and funds for charities and promote the Region to the rest of the nation.

Paige was not the only contestant to celebrate on the night, other titles awarded are as follows:-

  • 1st Runner-Up:- Amy Blackwell

The other awards were presented on the night which included:-

  • Miss Elegance:- Georgia McCarrick.

  • Beautiful Hair:- Shakella Jenkins.

  • Beautiful Eyes:- Lizzie Anderson.

The event was organised by Pat Hughes, the longest serving Miss England regional organiser, together with the reigning Miss World England, Charlotte Grant who has. But Charlotte had a surprise for Pat, with her also getting an award and a crown to say thank you for her long service to the Miss England Competition!

We are told that the organisers would like to thank all who were involved in making the event a huge success including:- Hair and Makeup - Beautiful Brows and Lashes, along with both:- Liverpool City College and Stafford College.

Well done to all the contestants who took part. You are all amazing and you can all be proud of taking part in what was probable one of the closest ever competitions in the events history.
