A British Halloween railway adventure at the seaside town of Southport

OVER 2 nights the Southport Model Engineering Club (SMEC) on:- Victoria Park, Southport, held a Halloween railway adventure.  The Ghost Train event not only captured the attention of local families, but also the TV News... Over 2 nights, Friday, 31 October and Saturday, 1 November 2025, the club's members ran live steam and electric train rides around its track using decorated rail cars along with hauntingly good lighting and other effects within its tunnels and in the surrounding landscape.

A well as the immersive journey the club offered guests a stall packed full of interesting items, along with games, and refreshments.

The clubs venue, on Rotten Row, next to the Children's play area, Victoria Park via the side gate, located on the Weld Road End side of the park (PR82DA).  The club is open most Sundays and for popular annual special events like this.
