The transportation of a 200 tomne Electrical Transformer from Port of Liverpool to the Fiddler's Ferry Power Station

AFTER being offloaded from the ACL Atlantic Sea, a huge 200 tonne Electrical Transformer was taken out of the Port of Liverpool on a specialist transporter, on:- Sunday, 1 March 2026. The abnormal load then travelled through Merseyside into Cheshire, escorted by Merseyside Police and later Cheshire Police.

This footage on our YouTube Channel, as shown bellow, shows some of the unloading and its movement out of the port and onto the journey on Crosby Road South (A565) at around:- 11.30am, after a long delay to the original schedule.

This specialist vehicle was pulled by Allelys': 2024 MAN, 15256 cc, Diesel, Multi Axle + Artic, several Merseyside Matrix Police vehicles, along with 2 motorcycles, at the point we filmed it leaving. They were used to shut down roads headed to its final destination, the SSE Renewables Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on:- Station Road, Fiddler's Ferry, Warrington, WA52UL.

Cheshire Police said:- "Assisting the transportation we had 6 Officers from the Constabulary's Motorcycle Unit upon handover from colleagues at Merseyside Police on the A5300."
