Military Vehicle Trust and local history societies hold event

THE Mid-Lancs Military Vehicle Trust on:- 16 May 2026, with groups from the British Legion, genealogy tracing, and local heritage groups held a:- Military Muster Day, at:- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, on:- Preston New Road, Southport.

The event was free to attend and had a good range of exhibits that included:- the Southport Family Search Centre that offered to help you research your Word War 1 and World War 2 ancestors. Another stand had War Graves information, others had very interesting information about a chap from Southport who died whist serving as a US Army Soldier. Plus other interesting stands like the Ormskirk Heritage Hub.

If you missed the event, it is worth adding that the:- Southport Family Search Centre, located within:- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, is open on the last Friday of every month, from:- 7 pm to 8:30 pm, except for:- Friday, 31 October 2025, when it will be open on Friday, 24 October 2025.
