Nominations Open for Citizens 4 Good Summer Celebration

SEFTON residents are being invited to recognise the people who make a real difference in their communities, as nominations open for the:- 'Citizens 4 Good Summer Celebration 2026,' taking place on:- Monday 6 July 2026, in Maghull.

Delivered in partnership by:- Sefton 4 Good, Sefton CVS, and the Mayor of Sefton's Office, Citizens 4 Good is a much loved initiative that celebrates local people whose kindness, commitment, and everyday actions strengthen communities across Sefton.

This summer's celebration will shine a special spotlight on the individuals who make grassroots sport possible. From volunteer football coaches braving wet cold Sunday mornings, to gymnastics instructors supporting young people to reach their potential, to parents and volunteers who give their time to fundraise, maintain equipment, and travel to competitions; these unsung heroes play a vital role in keeping community sport thriving and nurturing future athletic stars.

However, nominations are not limited to grassroots sport. The organisers are keen to celebrate all those who make a positive difference in Sefton, whether through volunteering, supporting others, fundraising, or simply showing acts of kindness that bring communities together.

Catrin Hughes, Lead Organiser,
said:- "This summer, as communities come together around sport such as the Men's Football World Cup, we want to shine a light on the incredible people behind the scenes who make grass roots sport possible. From coaches and volunteers to parents and supporters, their dedication has a lasting impact on young people and our communities. But Citizens 4 Good is about recognising all forms of contribution. Whether it's in sport or elsewhere, every act of kindness and commitment matters, and this is our chance to celebrate those individuals who go above and beyond."

During the July event, nominees will be invited to attend and will be personally thanked by the Mayor of Sefton, receiving a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their dedication, generosity, and community spirit.
