Southport Model Boat Club Lifeboat Weekend

SOUTHPORT Model Boat Club, over 14 June to 15 June 2008, held its 30th Annual Lifeboat Rally. Kev Howard said:- “It has been an amazing weekend. The weather has been a bit of an interesting element, as too has the fuel protests, putting people off coming, but all in all, it has been a fantastic success. Everyone who has been has gone away with a smile on their faces and helped raise valuable funds for both the RNLI and also Southport Offshore Rescue Trust.”

FOO FIGHTERS SOLD OUT WEMBLEY GIGS HIT THE BIG SCREEN!

165,000 Foo Fighters fans will be joined by 50 cinema audiences on Tuesday, 24 June 2008, when Vue Entertainment broadcasts Foo Fighters' sold out Wembley Stadium gigs in High Definition and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound at 50 Vue Cinemas across the UK including Southport's cinema.   The Wembley concerts which took place on 6 June & 7 June, 2008 where sold out completely within 24 hours, making them the biggest headline performances of the band's illustrious career, as well as the biggest rock shows staged at the new Wembley to date. The Vue screenings will give fans who weren't able to get tickets the chance to see the Foos at their biggest and best. The 200,000 plus that saw the Wembley and Manchester shows will have the chance to relive the experience once again.   This will be the only chance to see Foo Fighters' Wembley extravaganza on the big screen and in High Definition. Tickets are £12.50  directly from Southport Vue and other participating Vue cinemas.   James Dobbin, Head of Sales at Vue said:- "The Foo Fighters are such an incredible live band, this show is going to look amazing on the big screen. The band's unique sound set against the backdrop of Wembley Stadium is going to be an unbelievable cinema experience."   A spokesperson for the Foo Fighters said:- "These Wembley shows have been the most incredible experience of the band's entire career. They've never played bigger or better for a more insanely huge and appreciative crowd. It was an unforgettable occasion for everyone onstage and off and now it can be experienced by that many more Foo Fighters fans."   The Foo Fighters performance marks a continuation of Vue's commitment to broadcasting alternative programming on its cinema screens.  Tickets on sale now at myvue.com.
