POLICE HOLD OPEN DAY AT AL GHAZALI CENTRE

MERSEYSIDE Police will be holding an open day on Wednesday, 11 November 2009 from 12.30pm to 4.30pm at the Al Ghazali Centre on Earle Road, L7. Members of the local community are invited to come along and meet their local neighbourhood officers, as well as senior officers from South Liverpool, the Sigma hate crime team, the Crime Reduction Officer and the positive action team.

The day will also be attended by a number of representatives from other local agencies including:-

► Community Crimefighters
► North West Ambulance Service
► Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service
► JobCentre Plus
► Neighbourhood Management Services
► Registered Social Landlords
► Trading Standards
► Merseytravel
► Connexions

Liverpool South Area Commander Chief Superintendent Steve Ashley comments:- "We realise that it is important to engage with all of our communities, which is why we're holding our latest open day at the Al Ghazali centre. By doing so, we are hoping to speak to people who perhaps in the past have been reluctant to approach the police. We want to break down barriers and help people better understand what the police do and how we can work together to make our communities a better place to live."

Laurence Llewellyn Bowen appearance at Trebaron Garden Centre, Maghull

THE Flamboyant Designer and TV Presenter, Laurence Llewellyn Bowen will be making a guest appearance at Trebaron Garden Centre, Sefton Lane, Maghull on the evening of Monday, 16 November 2009, between 6.30 and 9.00pm. Llewellyn Bowen is best known for his unique ideas and room designs on the popular TV program ‘Changing Rooms’. His inimitable style didn’t always suit all tastes, but made for fantastic viewing. Laurence is at Trebaron Garden Centre to launch his ‘FABULOUS’ Christmas Decoration range he has designed in conjunction with Lancashire based Christmas company SNOWTIME. This exciting and decedent collection is colourful and bright, a true reflection of Llewellyn Bowen’s style. The decorations are versatile so can be incorporated into existing themes or taken in their entireness to bring the complete WOW factor to Christmas in your own home. This is the chance for you to have your very own piece of LLB style. What could be better?  Laurence Llewellyn Bowen once said:- "Christmas is the only time of year we move form Blandeur to Grandeur in this country, so it seems a shame not to make the most of it!"  Laurence Graduated from Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts in 1986 with a Fine Art Honors Degree. In 1989 he started his LLB Design Consultancy Firm with great success. From here his career grew and grew. He has designed major projects from Blackpool Illuminations to the Centerpiece of the Eden Project (Cornwall 2003). He is delighted to be visiting Trebaron Garden Centre and is excited with the launch of the exquisite ‘Fabulous’ range of decorations.   Trebaron Garden Centre (Formerly Sefton Meadow Garden Centre) is known throughout the North West for it’s Christmas displays and award winning Christmas grotto. The centre also attracts visitors from other regions and indeed, from as far a field as America, to view their Christmas displays.
