Homegrown star to shine at festival

REBECCA FERGUSON is the latest top name to be added to the Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF) line-up.  The Liverpool-born star will perform in the beautiful surroundings of Sefton Park on Monday, 26 August 2013.

The free performance will take place on the Summer Sessions stage, and Rebecca will join Britain's Got Talent finalists 2012 Loveable Rogues and East London trio Waylayers who are also the latest acts to sign up to perform.

Rebecca said:- "I'm always proud to perform in my home town. Looking forward to seeing you all there!"

Monday's Summer Sessions stage will also see Soul II Soul, The Christians, The Vocal Orchestra and Picture Book wow the crowds.

LIMF's Music Curator, Yaw Owusu, said:- "We're delighted Rebecca is part of the festival – she is a great ambassador for Liverpool's musical talent, and hearing her rich vocals in the lush surroundings of Sefton Park is bound to be a festival highlight for many. It's amazing to think we've only been planning this event for a matter of months – I'm really proud of the diverse nature of the line-up, and think we can safely say there is something for everyone. From the a fantastic weekend of pop and tribute acts at the Pier Head at an incredibly low ticket price, right through to a classical evening courtesy of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and a stage dedicated to the very best of world music, the eclectic mix will appeal to a broad range of music lovers.  And if that wasn't enough, we've still got another surprise or two up our festival sleeves…"
