Three Queens Liverpool
Event Information
One Magnificent City

Monday, 25 May 2015

CUNARD'S
Three Queens on the Mersey event, with flagship Queen Mary 2, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria performing synchronised manoeuvres on the river for the very 1st time, will receive a fantastic finishing touch with the addition of a flypast by the Red Arrows on Bank Holiday, Monday, 25 May 2015.

Adding a coup de grace to the event, the Red Arrows will perform the fly past at 1.50pm as the fleet completes its manoeuvres. The world famous aerobatic team will follow the Mersey in from the sea, flying in formation over the 3 ships to create an extraordinary spectacle on the river.

Cunard Director Angus Struthers said:- "The fly past by the Red Arrows will add an amazing extra wow to the day; 9 jets in the sky, Three Queens on the river and One Magnificent City. What an unforgettable combination that will be. I urge everyone to come and see the spectacle, soak up the atmosphere and become part of a really special, once in a lifetime event."

Squadron Leader David Montenegro, Red 1 and team leader of the Red Arrows said:- "The Red Arrows are pleased to be able to play a part in the Three Queens celebrations on the Mersey and we look forward to creating a special moment for the crowds on both sides of the river."

10.45am – Queen Mary 2 leaves the berth to greet her 2 sisters at Brazil Buoy (on the river between Crosby Beach and New Brighton).

12pm to 2pm – Three Queens meet and sail in formation South towards the Liverpool Echo Arena, and then North along the Mersey.

2.10pm – Queen Mary 2 leaves the City, Queen Elizabeth berths at the Cruise Liner Terminal and Queen Victoria anchors in the middle of the Mersey.

10pm – Amazing Graces projections.

10.30pm – Firework display, after which Queen Elizabeth leaves the City and Queen Victoria berths at the Cruise Liner Terminal.
