More Traffic Problems for drivers in the Formby and Freshfield area

TRAFFIC warning to drivers of yet more problems for commuters in Formby and Freshfield area. These roadworks are due to start from 28 September 2015, on Ryeground Land (B5424), between Trinity Saint Peters CE Primary School and the Grapes Hotel. All bus services, like the 2 and X2 will be re-routed as a result. Other stops include the local bus services that tops at the Ryeground Lane/Green Lane Stop. Please check with the bus company you want to travel with, before waiting at the bus stop!

For drivers, please follow the diversion signs that will be in place following the closure. Due to the road being 1 of only 3, main exits, that allow access in and out of the 2 villages, expect long delays with in the area.  This is especially important on rush hour, if joining the Formby Bypass (A565). Drivers are also being reminded that access out of the 4th exit, off Moss Side onto the A565, is for traffic heading North only.

Drivers are also being reminded that when entering the area,  heavily restrictions will be in place at the BP roundabout, and that you are advised not to enter the village via that entrance, unless going to the Deansgate Lane areas. Work is to be completed within 2 weeks from the 28 September 2015 and will be carried out by Dowhigh Ltd. on behalf of Sefton Council. If you have any problems with the work, you are asked to call:- 0151 523 4 372 quoting Permit No. 80730.  If this work affects you, please let us know by emailing us to:- News24@SouthportReporter.com.
