Oh, Whistle…A Tale of Nocturnal Terror at The Atkinson

LOCAL boy Robert Lloyd Parry returns home over October 2015, with 2 more Ghost Stories from M R James.  Robert Lloyd Parry (Nunkie Theatre) presents:- 'Oh, Whistle and The Ash Tree', on Friday, 30 October 2015, at The Atkinson

'Oh, Whistle', and 'I'll Come to You, My Lad', is a tale of nocturnal horror on the Suffolk coast and is considered by many to be James's masterpiece. It is beautifully complemented here by:- 'The Ash Tree', a story of witchcraft and vengeance down the generations.

M R James is acknowledged as the master of the English Ghost Story. He 1st performed his supernatural tales to friends at Christmas in King's College, Cambridge. Now Nunkie Theatre Company have brought two of these unforgettable spinechillers back to life.

Nunkie Theatre Company was founded in 1996 for a performance of Alan Bennett's An Englishman Abroad at the Canal Café Theatre in Little Venice, London. After successful productions in the same venue of Patrick Suskind's The Double Bass and David Mamet's Squirrels, the company lay dormant for nearly a decade before being revived by grand panjandrum and actor Robert Lloyd Parry.

Since December 2005 Robert has been performing a trilogy of one man shows based on the stories of M R James, the greatest writer of supernatural tales in English. His uncanny resemblance to the author has been noted with a shudder by more than one enthusiastic audience member.

'Oh, Whistle'… 2 ghost stories by M R James is performed at:- The Atkinson on Friday, 30 October 2015, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are:- £12 and £10 concessions plus booking fee and are available online or by calling the Box Office on:- 01704 533333. They are also available over the counter during:- The Atkinson opening hours.

* Please be advised that there is a £1 per ticket booking fee for telephone and online sales and 50p per ticket charge for over the counter sales.
