Southport British Musical Fireworks Championships (BMFC) 2015
Photographs by Patrick Trollope.

THE British Musical Firework Championships once again took place on Victoria Park, Southport, over 2nd to 4 October 2015. Set to music, all the teams delivered amazing shows, synchronised perfectly to the tunes they selected. Still photos just do not give justice to the event, so we have uploaded videos of highlights to our Facebook Page.

Sadly Friday Night's displays were hampered by the mist that had rolled in off the sea. But on Saturday and Sunday the weather was just right, giving the teams perfect conditions to show off their pyrotechnic wizardry.

Smart Pyrotechnics and The Fireworkers led off the event on Friday night. Saturday night's displays were by Fantastic Fireworks, Midnight Storm Fireworks and SelStar Fireworks, and, rounding of the event on Sunday, Brightfire Pyrotechnics and F1 Pyrotechnics gave their displays.

This was 1 of the closest competitions to date. Simon Smithies, who was the compere for all three nights, stated:- "I have been covering this event for so many years now I have lost count, but this was 1 of the best British Musical Fireworks Championships I have ever seen. This event just keeps producing surprises. I would have hated to be one of the judges this time... they are all so good!"

We can tell you that the overall winner was F1 Pyrotechnics, with 2nd Place being given to Brightfire Pyrotechnics, and 3rd Place being awarded to Midnight Storm Fireworks.

The result of the public vote will not be announced until voting closes on Monday, 10 October 2015. Results will be displayed on:- VisitSouthport.Com. We will also tell you the results on our Twitter feed and on our Facebook Pages, as well as in our next edition.
