Julia Donaldson's New Book is adapted for the Stage

IN the run up to the annual Kidsfest children's festival at The Atkinson, we welcome an adaptation of a literary heavyweight to the stage!

Following 5 star hits Stick Man and Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales, Scamp Theatre are proud to present a truly heart warming adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's hotly anticipated new book:- 'The Scarecrows' Wedding'.

Betty O'Barley and Harry O'Hay are excellent scarecrows who decide to get married. Harry sets off to search for their wedding day essentials, but the farmer replaces him with the devilishly smooth, but dangerous Reginald Rake. Will Harry make it back before Reginald ruins their special day?

It is the perfect afternoon treat for children aged 3 and above and is bursting at the seams with Scamp Theatre's inimitable style, this epic love story promises wit, drama, and wedding bells.

'The Scarecrows' Wedding'
can be seen on Friday, 16 October 2015, at 4.30pm. It is part of The Atkinson's 3 for 2 on Children's Theatre Offers this season. Book for 3 different shows and get the third free!

Kidsfest takes place every year during October ½ term. It is a chance for The Atkinson to showcase its leading offer for families across the Museum, Galleries, Theatre, Library and free arts and craft activities.

Don't forget to visit the Bakery during October ½ term, as we launch our new children's menu. The menu has been designed with our younger audience in mind by our new chef.

'The Scarecrows' Wedding'
tickets are £8 (£6 children / £24 family) and are available online or by calling the Box Office on:- 01704 533333. They are also available over the counter during The Atkinson opening hours.

Scamp Theatre will be returning to The Atkinson this Spring with their show Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales on Friday, 15 April 2015. See the website for details.

* Please be advised that there is a £1 per ticket booking fee for telephone and online sales and 50p per ticket charge for over the counter sales.
