Will Young, Liverpool Empire, Gig Review...
Review and photos by Jo Forrest.

WILL Young appeared on stage on the 2nd night of his 22 date Love Revolution tour, performing to a packed audience in the Liverpool Empire Theatre. Will who released his debut single back in 2002 has gone on to have 6 platinum selling studio albums, along with a staggering 19 singles. Arguably one of the most successful stars of the TV show Pop Idol. And although this was his 1st tour in 4 years, it was like he had never been away.

Will appeared on stage in a black all in 1 loose fitting catsuit, opening with his new single Brave Man, the soulful singer was blasted with ticker tape, ribbons and smoke from behind clear plastic screens as he appeared to fight the force of the wind machine. He sang various songs from both old and new albums much to the delight of the crowd. Stopping briefly for a generation style game where various items were rolled out. Will playing the role of the bride throwing a bouquet, then threw a cuddly toy into the audience, as well as discussing various other items, like a strip pen and a poster of himself describing how it had been photoshopped to give him a more muscular appearance.

There was lots of audience interaction, posing for selflies, and venturing down to the front row for some more personal one on one contact. As well as some cheeky heckling of people who turned up late of left to go to the toilet. I did feel sorry for one lady who was up dancing at the beginning of the concert only to have another audience member complain which resulted in her being told to sit down by the Empire staff, although this didn't last long as Will then encouraged everyone up onto their feet. A mixed audience of both young and old were certainly very pleased to see him back and on form.  Support on the night came from Lemar.
