LHK Youth Theatre 'FAME' at The Epstein Theatre is looking for new talent!

MERSEYSIDE'S Talented young performers take note! Are you looking for fame? Do you want to light up the sky like a flame and for people to remember your name? Read on!!!

The LHK Youth Theatre will be staging the smash hit musical 'FAME' at The Epstein Theatre in July 2016 and is currently on the lookout for the region's hottest new talent.

Producer Lee Kelly is looking to put together a cast of 30 for the musical which is based on the 1980 hit musical film Fame which starred Irene Cara and featured the famous title song.

The film told the story of students at New York City's High School of Performing Arts and was followed by a 6 season television series and the musical. It starred the fame obsessed Carmen, ambitious actress Serena, wisecracking comedian/bad boy Joe, quiet violinist Schlomo, talented but dyslexic dancer Tyrone, determined actor Nick, overweight dancer Mabel, and poor dancer Iris.

However, producer Lee is looking for strong dancers for his production of 'FAME', who can also sing and act and are good all round performers.

The auditions are open to performers aged 8 to 19 and will be held at 12pm, with registration at 11.30am, so make sure you get there in plenty of time.

They don't need to worry about preparing an audition piece as Lee's team of experienced professionals will give you a choreographed routine or song to sing.

As well as getting the chance to star in a great show, performance will gain invaluable stage experience working with LHK Youth Theatre, the region's leading youth arts organisation.

Successful candidates will then get to train with the best in the industry and star in a variety of productions from glittering pantomimes to fast paced musicals, touring shows and youth productions.

Established by Lee Kelly, managing director of LHK Productions, the Youth Theatre has nurtured the talent of thousands of young people over the past decade and previous members have gone on to become TV stars, West End performers and entertain on cruise ships worldwide!

Having celebrated its 10th birthday last year, LHK Productions is still as committed to delivering both fun and traditional shows to the theatre, complete with a fresh and modern twist, as it was back in 2005. It's this ethos that has turned LHK into a global brand, with huge deals with companies in both Lebanon and Dubai.

Lee is looking forward to the next 10 years and is planning to create a pool of fresh young talent from across Merseyside to perform in a variety of productions from pantomimes and touring shows to youth productions.

Lee explained:- "At LHK Youth Theatre we aim to inspire, train and showcase exceptional performers aged 4 to 19 from all over the North West. It is not a dancing school; we cover a broad range of performance skills including singing, dancing and acting. Each year we reach out across the region to discover exceptional new talent. Our training is based on the basic principal that the best place for young people to learn about the performing arts is on stage in front of a live audience. We provide a platform for young talent to be showcased on a regional, national and international stage in iconic theatres throughout the UK and beyond. Our incomparable team of professional creative artists lead a fun, challenging educational programme which not only teaches children about performing arts and the skills required to excel in this field but we also teach transferable skills essential for children at any stage of their development."

LHK Youth Theatre is open to all levels from beginners to advanced; so whether you are an experience performer, or just fancy having a go, then come along to the auditions which will be held at The Epstein Theatre on Sunday, 7 February 2016 at 11.30am.

If you are successful in gaining a place in the Youth Theatre, you must be prepared to rehearse twice a week. (Membership fees apply).
