	 Miss England final to 
	return to the North West

	THE Wayfarers Shopping Centre was 
	awash with the glitz and glamour of the beautiful Miss England Finalists to 
	reveal the location for the National Finals. Current Miss England Natasha 
	Hemmings, alongside girls vying for the Miss England crown; Miss 
	Worcestershire Laure Beth Morgan, Miss Lancashire Lucy Physick, and Miss 
	North West Christina Cunningham were met by press and photographers to 
	announce this years National location. 
	After a long 11 years, the Miss England grand final has now returned to the 
	beautiful North West of England. 50 regional winners from across the country 
	will arrive this summer in Southport for the prestigious three day event on 
	19 July to 21 July 2016, vying for the national crown and a prize worth £25,000. Along 
	with companies, friends and family, many people will be visiting the 
	beautiful seaside resort, bringing lots of new and excited visitors to 
	England's Classic seaside Town. 
	Since 2005 the national final to find England's candidate for Miss World has 
	been successfully held across the country, more specifically across the 
	southern coast in Devon, throughout the breadth of the Midlands, and of 
	course the big lights of London.

	To celebrate the return of Miss England to 
	the North West, the Miss England Organisation, working alongside Southport 
	Tourism and Southport Flower Show, created a stunning 'living' 
	dress for the 
	current Miss England, Natasha Hemmings, which she wore at the launch on 
	Thursday, 11 February 2016. Created from fresh cut flowers, a beautiful 
	dress was and designed and created by the talented team to complement the 
	Southport famous flower show, and Natasha's natural quintessential beauty. 
	 
	The Ramada Plaza Hotel, Southport, will be host to this years 50 finalists 
	and a fast moving fashion show style final will be held in the Southport 
	Theatre and Convention Centre's Floral Hall on the 21 July 2016, attracting family, 
	friends and sponsors of the competition from across the country.
	Enda Rylands General Manager of the Ramada Plaza Southport said:- "We 
	are delighted to be welcoming the 50 final contestants to our fantastic 
	resort and look forward to offering them the very best hospitality in the 
	region throughout their stay with us here at the Ramada Plaza Southport."
	 
	 
	Even though the Miss England competition is being held at the seaside, the 
	event has moved away from the historical:- 'bathing beauty' image. 
	Instead contestants will take part in a series of qualifying rounds that 
	include sports/fitness, fundraising, talent and an Eco-fashion show whereby 
	contestants are given the chance to use their creative skills and ingenuity 
	to come up with an outfit made from recycled materials.

	Miss Worcestershire Laura Beth Morgan 
	said:- "My Eco dress I am showcasing today took about 2 weeks to make 
	and is made out of 400 of Cherry Orchard Publishing Cards. I love being 
	being creative and can not wait to start thinking about the Eco round for 
	Miss England this year which the theme is - Classic Era." 
	 
	Mark Catherall, Sefton Council's Head of Service for Tourism said:- 
	"We are delighted that Southport has the opportunity to host such a fabulous 
	event. The resort has an unrivalled reputation when it comes to hosting 
	national conferences and major public events such as the Southport Air Show, 
	the British Musical Fireworks Championship and of course; The Southport 
	Flower Show. We are pleased to be associated with Miss England, an 
	organisation that promotes such a healthy and positive approach in the 
	beauty industry and look forward to working with the team." 
	 
	Miss Lancashire Lucy Physick says:- "I especially look forward to 
	promoting a health body and mind, with the Miss England sports round showing 
	ambition, determination and most of all team work. These are just 3 key 
	aspects which young women and men of should make a priority in their lives." 
	 
	Over the last 5 years the Miss England competition has raised more than 
	£700k for disadvantaged children and families in the UK using the Miss World 
	slogan:- "Beauty with a Purpose". This includes funding custom-built, 
	adapted coaches for disabled children at specialist schools. Over £225k has 
	been raised in the North West by regional Miss England contestants and donated
