Mastermind a massive night of music in your Town

CALLING all music lovers and local heroes! Oxfam is searching for inspiring individuals to be Takeover Managers, leading teams of talented volunteers for this year's legendary Oxjam music festival in October 2016.

Oxjam is the nation's local music festival, showcasing the best emerging talent from Shoreditch to Shetland. Every October towns and cities across the UK are taken over during Oxfam's month of music, with hundreds of gigs organised by volunteers.

Since 2007 there have been 6,000 Oxjam events, raising over £1 million for Oxfam's work fighting poverty and suffering across the world. This year Oxjam is celebrating 10 years of local music making a huge global impact.

The festival's centrepiece is the Oxjam Takeover Weekend. On Saturday, 15 October 2016, 50 British Towns and Cities host their own multi venue music event.

As an Oxjam Takeover Manager it's your role to recruit a team of volunteers and inspire them to organise fundraising events for the Oxjam Takeover in their hometown.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone seeking experience in events, music or the charity sector. There are more than 50 Takeover Manager roles up for grabs...

Commitment:- 7 months (April 2016 to November 2016). This is a flexible part time volunteer role, taking around 1 day a week.

Location:- Takeovers can take place anywhere in the UK, from Shoreditch to Shetland.

Ideal experience for:- Someone looking to gain experience in the music industry, gain events management skills or knowledge about the charity sector.

Application process:- All applications must be received by Monday, 29 February 2016. Interviews will take place in March 2016, and dates will vary by region.

Successful applicants will be required to attend the Oxjam Takeover Manager induction session, from 9 April to 10 April 2016, at Oxfam House in Oxford.
