MP opens new spinal day room

JOHN Pugh MP officially opened a refurbished day room for patients at Southport Hospital. The new room will be used by patients of The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre, at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust. The centre cares for people with spinal cord injuries from Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria, Cheshire, parts of North Wales and the Isle of Man. The day room has now been completely revamped providing a light, bright location for patients to cook meals, chat and relax. Emily Hoban, who runs the centre, said:- "We were delighted Mr Pugh was able to officially open this new facility which will provide a fantastic environment for our patients." The centre is internationally recognised for the excellent treatment of people with high cervical spinal cord injury.
