Space played live at the Fox and Goose, Southport

THE one and only 'Space' performed live in Southport, on Friday, 3 June 2016, to a packed out Fox and Goose. The band, who are famous for the hit singles such as:- "Neighbourhood," "Female of the Species," "Avenging Angels," "Me and You Versus the World," "Diary of a Wimp" and "The Ballad of Tom Jones", attracted huge interest. This Scouse Band who here, once inspired by 1960’s groups, like:- ‘The Who’ and ‘The Kinks,’ are always up for fun. They bounced around the stage and engaged the audience on many occasions throughout the performance. Watching them, it’s no wonder how the band has inspired so many other bands and have themselves released many top 40 singles, including a string of them in the top 10 over the years.

The band’s dark humoured lyrics and entertaining humour, fitted in well at the Fox and Goose… "This type of live music is what has been lacking in Southport for way to long. The Fox is 1 of a few to bring it back and we want to see more like this! Too often the market is DJ driven in Southport; this means the venues miss out on a large proportion of the wider market. Our hats go off to the Fox and Goose and thank you to Space for delivering an amazing show!!!" said one of the many Space fans.

This amazing band, with its very distinctive alternative electric rock sound, seemed to relish playing at this very intermit gig. Tommy Scott, the bands guitar and vocalist after the show said:- “This was fantastic. We have so many real fans here and the atmosphere was amazing. We want to come back!”

We have to also give a mention to the brilliant support bands:- "Alex James and The Sound" and "The Jade Assembly."
But We also have to give credit to Kick Audio Visual, who did a fantastic job with the audio on the night...

After the night ended and people started to drift away, sadly we could not find any of the 50 type of Kebabs at Southport Food Centre, but despite that, this was an amazing night! Both The Fox and Goose and BOOM Event Services, you definitely made a night to remember...

For all the latest about the band and to find out about the band and also their latest studio album:- “Give me your Future” on the band’s website.

If you missed them, the next live show in our area will be at The Citadel, in St Helens, on 10 June 2016. We are told they will be marking Prince Philip’s Birthday and the Queen’s Birthday in the show…

We have been told that they will also be playing at the Formby Festival, that will take place over 15 July to 17 July 2016.
