The Southport Air Show 2016 is ready for take off!

THE Southport Air Show 2016 takes place over 9 September to 11 September 2016, and not only is it celebrating 25 years, but also it will offer a brand new experience... This year marks the shows 'Silver Anniversary' and as a result the event will have an added attraction, a night flight display, well more dusk than night... This night flight will deliver new opportunities to show off the capabilities of the aircraft participating in the event. The night flight will feature the amazing P-51 Mustang, the graceful Blades and, falling from the heavens with LED lights and pyros, will be the Tigers Freefall Parachute Team and the Fireflies.... But for spectators and aviation fans, the highlight will be watching the afterburner of the Typhoon, lighting up the sky! The entire evening will end with a grand Firework Finale!  But the aviators will also be putting on a stunning performance in daylight hours... Both Saturday and Sunday's displays will see a good mix of both civilian and military aircraft, plus Tigers Freefall Team will also be performing...  The show will be opened on the Saturday by the RAF Red Arrows, making their only visit to this year's event... But things only get better! Sunday will see the Army Historic Aircraft Flight - Sioux and Scott opening the events' flying activities...
