Freshfields Animal Rescue

IN the community spirit for which Southport is renowned, Just Cats Veterinary Clinic on Duke Street, Southport, are holding a Christmas Craft Fair to raise funds for Freshfields Animal Rescue.

The event is being organised by Rachel Backshall, whose father Simon Backshall runs Just Cats. Rachel said:- ''Just Cats Veterinary Clinic in Southport are proud and honoured to be hosting a Christmas Craft Fair this Winter, in support of Freshfields Animal Rescue. Organised by Just Cats staff, family and friends, the Christmas Craft Fair will feature local makers and their crafts, showcasing Southport's fabulous local creativity and talents. Available to purchase on the day will be soaps and stocking fillers, artisan crafts, ceramics, cards, pet products and handmade wreaths, as well as local artwork and photography.  Home baked sweet treats, chocolates and cakes will be sold in the 'Big Christmas Bake Sale' on the day. All proceeds will go to the animals of Freshfields Rescue. The event aims to bring the wider community together for a festive celebration of skills, creativity and of course the incredible work that Freshfields do for abused, abandoned and unwanted animals all year round.''

Debbie Hughes, PR Co-ordinator for Freshfields Animal Rescue, said:- "We are delighted that our friends at Just Cats are supporting the animals in this way. The clinic has been part of our extended Freshfields family for many years, and we're very much looking forward to what we hope will be a successful day. The animals and staff at Freshfields would not be able to carry out our work without the participation of our generous local community. We're looking forward to meeting you on the day."

The fair takes place in the Coach House Studio, just behind Just Cats, at:- 59 Duke Street, Southport, PR8 5BT, on Sunday, 26 November 2017 and Sunday, 3 December 2017, from 12pm to 4pm.
