Formby Arts Festival 2002.

IN EVENINGS SEE TOP ACTS!

OUTDOOR THEATRE

By day the local schools will be entertaining the public with music, dance and drama. 8 July to the 12 July 2002. Free to watch!

   

Saturday 6th July @ 7.30pm. 

'The Swing Shift Band' Bringing to you the sounds of 40's - Jazz and memories of Glen Millar and Benny Goodman etc.

Tickets £5.00 Covered Seating and £4.00 Not Covered.

Sunday 7th July @ 7.30pm.

'Humphrey Lyttelton and his Band!' Internationally renowned Jazz ledged and musician, writer and also radio broadcaster and support act 'Sefton Youth Jazz Orchestra' (SYJO) led by Glen Waite. 

Tickets £12 covered seating and £10.00 Not covered seating.

Monday 8th July.

2.15pm to 2.45pm Redgate Primary
2.45pm to 3.15pm Formby High
Schools entertain with music, dance and drama.

Evening:-

'Reckless' a Pop concert. Talented trio, Adrian, Catherine and Laura sing Hear'Say, Atomic Kitten, S Club 7 and more.

Tuesday 9th July.

Free events in daytime:-

Schools entertain with music, dance and drama.

Evening:-

'Folk in the Pinewoods', Folk concert led by Formby's lan Clark, singer and song writer. Also featuring Blarneystone, League of Friends and Barry Jones.

Wednesday 10th July.

The Langdale Wind Ensemble by kind permission of the Royal Northern College of music

Wind quintet in Bb Op 56 No.1 Danzi 17 Variations for wind quintet,  Damase Summer Music Op 31 for Wind Quintet,  Barber Divertimento No 14 KV270,  Mozart Tickets £5 and £4. 7.30pm

Thursday 11th July.

Schools entertain with music, dance, poetry and drama
Evening:-
'Sefton Youth Brass Band' Young instrumentalists from schools in Sefton play selection from traditional marches to James Bond. Conducted by Maurice Fogg.

Friday 11th July.

Free events in daytime:-
145 to 215pm Formby/Range High School.
215 to 245pm St Gregory's Primary school.
Entertaining with music and Irish Dances etc.

Evening:-

'The Pirates of Penzance' Highly talented Southport Hoghton Players return with this celebrated concert version of Gilbert and Sullivan's famous opera. 

Ticket prices  £5.00 and £4.00  Not covered seating from 7.30pm.


Saturday 13th July.

Evening only... 

'ABBA UK' Return of Britain's leading tribute band to the super group with 'Waterloo', Dancing Queen, SOS, Mama Mia, and more.


Tickets £8.00 and £7.00
Not covered seating from 7.30pm.

N.B. There is a Sefton Council parking fee for use of car parks. 

Wet weather policy:- As evening concerts will continue in the outdoor theatre during inclement weather, there will be no refunds of tickets. This is in accordance with norm al policy for outdoor theatre events. Only in the event of very, exceptional severe weather conditions will the Formby Hall Garden Party be considered for cancellation. Refunds will riot he considered after the event has begun. The Millennium Committee reserves the right to make alterations to the programme. Information is correct at time of printing.
