FORMBY WAS IN A TIME WARP...
Photographs by Patrick Trollope.

THE Victorian era hit the village for the 8 year running, as over 7,000 people descended on Formby Village over Saturday 6 December to enjoy the Dickens Day, that followed a success full light switch on a few days earlier. Locals got into the spirit of the day by dressing in their Victorian outfits festivities were carried out through the day. Some of the many acts and displays included Southport Model Engendering Club' s Steam Trains, JJ the Clown, an amazing fire eater, Merseyside Army Cadets Pipes and Drums, Sefton Youth Theatre, Formby Band, Bootle and District Concertina Band, Southport Swords and Argameles Clog Dancers, St. Jerome's Men’s Choir, the Maghull Hand Bell Ringers, Crosby Gilbert and Sullivan, and lots more....

The day came to a close with the grand parade, led by the Mayor of Sefton, Councillor David Pearson and Mayoress of Sefton Bar Bar and MP for Formby Claire Curtis Thomas.
