LOCAL Radio station Juice FM place host to singer Heidi Range and her pals from the Sugababes as part of their nation wide tour to promote their new single Freedom. The band release the EP Freedom at the end of September 2011, followed up with a new album, and a tour. GPW Charity Golf Day in aid of the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal

GPW Recruitment have held their 2011 Charity Golf Day at Houghwood Golf Course, St Helens to raised money for the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal, the charity associated with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The charity helps raise money to buy vital medical equipment and carry out research into medical conditions affecting the many children treated at Alder Hey Hospital.

GPW’s target was to raise over £5000 for the children’s charity, however, this target was smashed with a final total raised on the day of £10,013. Peter Turner, Managing Director at Houghwood Golf Course said:- "GPW Recruitment’s Charity Golf Day has raised more money than any other charity golf day held at Houghwood Golf Course. We are proud to have supported the day"

The auction saw prizes such as the Annual Privileged Pass for Houghwood Golf Course sold for £700, and framed breeches signed by various jockeys including A P McCoy, for £500.

Gary Ward, Operations Manager at GPW Recruitment commented:- "We had already raised £2500 through hole and competition sponsorship from GPW suppliers. On the actual day we had raffles and auctions which, thanks to the immense generosity of GPW’s clients, helped us double our target of £5000 and raise a massive £10,013 for the Alder Hey Imagine Appeal. We would like to thank our clients and our suppliers for their involvement and for giving so generously. The day exceeded all expectations and we hope the money raised will have a positive effect on the lives of those being treated at Alder Hey Hospital."

Managing Director of GPW Recruitment, Mark Parish commented:- "There was a great atmosphere out on the fairway. Our clients showed great spirit and even greater generosity. We are delighted to have been able to raise so much money for such a excellent cause."

VIP night at Shorrocks, Formby, Merseyside

ON Saturday, 3 September 2011, we turned up to photograph a very lively club. We have not been in for years and the memories can back fast. The venue was full of very friendly people and the DJ's Lee Butler and DJ Floydi keep up a fantastic beat. Despite the lack of The Only Way Is Essex cast member and associated guests Devon Anderson & the Nuts girls, the night was good fun and very enjoyable. It was very relaxed and as one of the Face book followers, Col Roberts said on the club’s profile:- "The Essex lot missed out mate coz there was a great crowd in and had a good night anyway." Also adding to the comments on face book was one of the DJ's of that night, Lee Butler, who is also a radio DJ at Radio City 96.7. He posted on Face book:- "What a joke at the lack of Appearance from the booked and paid for entertainment The Only Way Is Essex cast member and associated guests Devon Anderson & the Nuts girls. It’s a disgrace that Shorrocks Hill now has to take the flak for this after they paid good money all beforehand to be made to look a fool. I know Paul (owner) personally and he’s gutted over this. Not even a phone call to say they wouldn’t be attending or an apology since. Disgusting and I’m sure Shorrocks Hill will make it up to you all somehow. I am DJing there this Sat night so please come and show the club some support." Later he added that "Sosumi" with their performance of the Smash Hit, "You've Got The Love...!” would be all attending 100%, as Lee personally booked them. Anyway, please enjoy the photographs we took of the true VIP's of Shorrocks, Formby, the regulars… We will be back as we enjoyed the atmosphere anyway!
