Testing Week we find out about a new self testing kit for HIV
THE
Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)is a
retrovirus that as of yet has no
cure. As the medical community has continued to
develop a vaccine against it and also a cure, sadly the virus is still
spreading.
Currently there are 4 main types of
HIV test with the most accurate being
blood tests, looking for
antibodies that your body makes against HIV. Up to now it has meant
a sample of blood having to be taken in a clinic and sent for
testing in a laboratory, but not anymore.
Jennifer Brown, from bioLytical? Laboratories Inc. very kindly took the time to
