Wirral Live 2017

LOCAL bands Mic Lowry and The Hummingbirds added to a line-up headlined by Little Mix, The Libertines and Madness and also featuring Conor Maynard, The Coral, Reverend and The Makers, The Farm, Anton Powers and Bronnie

The line up for Wirral Live just got better with the addition of hugely popular local groups Mic Lowry and The Hummingbirds.

Prenton Park, home of Tranmere Rovers FC, will play host to three nights of live music as Little Mix, The Libertines and Madness headline a trio of concerts on successive nights later this month for Wirral Live 2017.

The 3 day event runs from 19 May to 21 May 2017 and also sees The Coral, Reverend and the Makers, Conor Maynard, The Farm, Anton Powers and Bronnie take to the stage.

Mic Lowry have now been added to Sunday's already amazing line up, where headliners:- Little Mix are also joined by Conor Maynard, Bronnie and Anton Powers.

The Hummingbirds complete a stellar line up on Saturday, with The Libertines headlining and rounding off a day of music that also features:- Reverend and the Makers and The Coral.

Wirral Live kicks off in style on the Friday night as 80s stars Madness bring their unique brand of fun and music to Merseyside for the night, joined by special guests:- The Farm, with Courts opening the 3 day show.

Merseyside's own trailblazing boyband Mic Lowry are freshly back from supporting US superstar:- Justin Bieber across 22 European Cities. Winners of the 'MOBO UnSung Award' in 2015, a prize that recognises the best new or emerging music of black origin within the UK:- Ben Sharples, Kaine Ofoeme, Akia Jones, Delleile Ankrah and Michael Welch were spotted early on as a band to watch.

The 5 piece R&B outfit's most recent single:- 'Whiskey Kisses', showcases the harmonies that have become their trademark and followed on from:- 'Oh Lord', their massive hit featuring Phil Collins that amassed an incredible 55 million streams.

Born and bred in the North, The Hummingbirds aren't afraid or ashamed to take inspiration from Merseyside's most famous musical export, The Beatles, yet have forged their own distinctive sound that has unsurprisingly seen them build up a strong and loyal following willing to travel the length and breadth of the country; and beyond; just for the chance to see them play and hear those harmonies.

The Hummingbirds:- Jay Davies, Mic Kountis, Richard Smith, Matty Brougham and Ryan Lewis; have put in plenty of hard yards to build up this following, gaining national radio airplay whilst still independent artists and evolving a sound that references the likes of:- Ryan Adams, The Eagles and Jake Bugg as much as it does the British Mersey sound that maybe first inspired them to pick up those instruments in the 1st place.

Tranmere Rovers will be turning their Prenton Park home into 1 of the largest concert venues in the North, for 1 amazing weekend, before the pitch is renovated over the summer.

Tranmere Chairman Mark Palios said:- "We're really excited about being able to bring three great days of music to the people of Wirral. There is nowhere else on the Wirral that could host an event like Wirral Live. This event could be huge for both Wirral and Tranmere Rovers Football Club."

Tranmere Rovers Vice Chairman Nicola Palios added:- "We are really excited that Prenton Park is to host internationally renowned names like Little Mix, The Libertines and Madness in front of a packed stadium, it really will underline that Wirral and Tranmere; a flagship music venue, capable of attracting some of the world's biggest artists."

The shows take place from Friday, 19 May to Sunday, 21 May 2017, at Prenton Park, Tranmere Rovers FC, Prenton Road West, Birkenhead, Wirral, CH42 9PY.

Friday - Madness, The Farm, Courts.

Saturday - The Libertines, The Coral, Reverend and the Makers, The Hummingbirds.

Sunday - Little Mix, Conor, Maynard, Mic Lowry, Anton Powers, Bronnie.
