PETS AT HOME FERRET FRENZY

THE PETS at Home store in Southport' Ocean Plaza invited people to ferret down to the store this on the 10 January, as it played host to the Exotic Animal Welfare Trust and some of its furry ferret friends!

While Pets at Home does not sell ferrets, they are the number one pet choice in the USA and becoming increasingly popular in the UK. In response to the growing popularity, Pets at Home  booked The Exotic Animal Welfare Trust experts to host ferret events at its pet superstores.

AIRPORT DEATH

LIVERPOOL Airport was sealed off by police after the horrific death of Michael Howard on the morning of Tuesday 6 January.

Police were called at 5:35am following reports of a man being run down by a car. Mr Howard, who was 57 years old and from the Preston area, was due to go on holiday to Malaga with his wife, when he was run over by thieves trying to steal his silver Volvo car.

Mr Howard's wife has issued the following statement:- "This was a happy time, and we were going on a holiday that we were really looking forward to. The people who've done this had no regard for Michael's safety, or for anyone else. Michael was a much loved husband and father and we are completely devastated by what's happened. We would like to be left to grieve in peace, and to try to come to terms with Michael's death, but want people to help the police. Someone must know who has done this and we would ask that they please come forward and speak to the police."

Following the plea for help Detectives in Liverpool detained a 19 year old man from Woolton arrested on Tuesday, and a 20 year old man from Speke, arrested on Wednesday. A further two were arrested on Thursday 8 January. A 21 year old and a 17 year old from Speke,

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111

Our deepest sympathies go to the victim's family.
