- Merseyside Police can confirm that a
bomb scare outside the library on Lord Street, Southport at 11am on
Tuesday, 20th August was a hoax.
Police were called after the suspicious package was found and two
items were disrupted and the scene was given the all clear around 3pm.
People were evacuated from nearby buildings as a precautionary measure
and nearby roads were closed, which were then reopened.
