			 Royal Birkdale
local, Florentyna Parker, secures place at Ricoh Women’s British
			Open with victory in Italy

WITH a little over a week
to go until this year’s Ricoh Women’s British Open, local girl and
Royal Birkdale member, Florentyna Parker secured her spot in the
Championship by winning the Ladies Italian Open in style; making an
Albatross on the back nine to win by one shot from her compatriot,
			Holly Clyburn.

The victory will see Parker tee it up at her home club, Royal
Birkdale, of which she has been a member for 13 years as she aims to
continue her good form and use the home support to her advantage for
the 39th edition of the Championship which sees the world’s best
female golfers compete from the 10 July to 13 July 2014.

			Parker also qualified for the
prestigious event the last time it was staged at Royal Birkdale
courtesy of a victory in the Deloitte Ladies Open in Holland and by
winning last week she avoided Final Qualifying at Southport and
Ainsdale Golf Club on Monday, 7 July 2014.

Commenting on the opportunity, Florentyna Parker said:- "I am
really excited to play the Ricoh Women’s British Open at my home
club in front of all the members and my friends who are really
supportive of me. I played in the Championship the last time it was
at Royal Birkdale and it was a fantastic experience, hopefully I can
go a few better this year and continue the momentum I have from
Italy. I’ve played there a few times this year and the course is in
superb condition and all the members are really excited for the
			Championship to start."

As it stands 127 places in the 144
player field have been confirmed with three more qualifying from the
ISPS Handa Ladies European Masters this weekend before the remaining
hopefuls head to Final Qualifying on Monday, 7 July 2014, to battle
it out for the final 14 places.

			Northern Ireland’s 22 year old
Stephanie Meadow is amongst the favourites to progress as she bids
to extend her fast start to life in the professional ranks having
finished third on her professional debut at last month’s US Women’s
Open at Pinehurst No. 2. She will be joined in the field by veteran
Swede, Sophie Gustafson, who won the Championship at Royal Birkdale
back in 2000 and who has finished runner-up on three other occasions
			between 1998 and 2006.

Another player to watch out for is
former Ladies British Amateur champion, Rebecca Hudson, who travels
to Southport fresh from a third place finish behind Parker in Italy.
Su-Hyun Oh from Australia and England’s Annabel Dimmock, who are
No.5 and no.20 respectively in the world amateur golf rankings, are
the only two amateurs exempt into final qualifying. Eight other
amateurs made it through Pre-Qualifying over the Blue course at The
Berkshire which was won by Welsh former Solheim Cup player, Becky
			Brewerton.

Admission to Final Qualifying is free of charge.
