Southport Air show 2014 is ready for take off
Photographs by Patrick Trollope.

THE 2014 Southport Air show is to be held over 20 September to 21 September 2014 and is set to be one of the best ever. This year’s event will have World War 1 connections with some of the activities on offer as well as an assault course, a climbing wall, along with many military vehicles and aircraft for you to have a look at on the ground... Plus, in the Air Show Village experience, the next best thing to flying a fast jet ‘travel’ in one of the many flight simulators, and TO take a look at the Northern Brickworks with their brilliant Lego displays or even take a ride in some mini tanks and much more. The unique setting of the event will also see aircraft land and take off in front of the public, on the historic sandy beach. But it is what is in the sky that will be the biggest draw, as it is an air show... As this is the last air show of the 2014 season, it will be crammed full of displays from the Army, Royal Navy and RAF display teams through to a varied mix of civilian and historic displays. Weather permitting the event will see the following aircraft and displays taking to the skies above Southport Pier.
