Fest in Southport's Havana
FIVE top bands have been
confirmed for a night of Indy Pop Rock, that will shake up
the town. Havana, Southport Reporter and the Champion, are
working together to raise funds for the Southport Christmas
Lights Campaign. Our editor Patrick Trollope said:-
"It needs all the media to work together to help bring back
live music to the town and that is why we have teamed up
with the Champion. Along the way we also want to get the
town looking good as well. That is why we are starting off
by putting on this massive event, to raising funds for the
Christmas lights. We would like to thank both the Champion
and Havana for their support and help in getting this event
off to a fantastic start." We can not reveal two of
the bands yet, but we can now reveal that Revolution, Abe
and Post Haste are playing... But we are announcing the
other names next week!

A Era In Formby
OVER the past two years,
Formby's established shops are being forced out, due to
every increasing rents and business rates. Early on this
year, the music shop Quirks had to close and now the one of
the oldest shops in Formby is closing its doors for the last
time, later this week. Mr Delahunty has run his toy shop and
bike shop for as long as most people can remember, but he
decided to retire due to his age and was looking for some
one to take over the shop. Sadly the high rates and high
rent has put off others from taking over what was a
successful business. We will bring you the full story next
week about small businesses and the problems they face.
