Fact... Liverpool Is Safer Than London Or Manchester, Even Blackpool¿
Ok... Who nabbed all the figgers from the charts?

YES that is correct. If you don't believe us take a look!

It's officially vindicated in the Urban Crime Rankings that Liverpool is ranked 40 of the 57 cities with a population above 100,000.

So much for the reputation Liverpool has for crime! Yet most local and national media outlets have missed this point!

As one of our readers says:- "Ask most people what they think of the city, and they'll tell you it's full of thugs in shell suits who go around beating people up and nicking the wheels of their cars." Thanks Rocketeddy...

Interestingly the fingers show that rival city, Manchester is rated 5th place, Nottingham, and we are even ahead of Blackpool, Leeds or even Stoke!

Sadly it is not all good news as Liverpool's number of assaults is above the national average. But on a per person basis, the odds of being murdered in Liverpool are almost exactly the same as in London. The number of rapes per 10,000 people was a mere 90% of the national average. Even in the "auto crime", a category in which many would expect to see Liverpool claiming the crown with ease, was just 3% above the average. Yes we're in a lowly 25th place - yet again, behind Manchester, Nottingham, and Leeds. You're more likely to have your car swiped in Sutton Coldfield than in Liverpool! It is strange that our insurance prices do not reflect this!

Say no more to the words "Scourers are thieving scum", as the city has below average burglary and robbery rates are below average aw well!

As Rocketeddy said:- "That's one league we're more than happy to let them win in!"

Thanks for letting us know Rocketeddy!  You can read the report by clicking here if you sill doesn’t believe your eyes...

Macmillan Cancer Relief Annual Line Dancing Event

LORD Street Southport was again home to the annual Macmillan Nurses Line Dancing event. The event has grown over the last few years into a huge event with line dancers travelling in from all over the Northwest to dance the day away, and also to raise cash for their charity. The line dancing was lead this year by the Lee Vernico Line dancing School, who meet each Tuesday morning, at the Southport St John Ambulance Hall, and every Monday Evening at the Amelan Hall in Southport. Well done, everyone, who came along and supported the event.
